Pervoskia 'Russian Sage'
Perovskia Perovskia, commonly known as 'Russian Sage', is a lovely shrubbery perennial. It is equally valuable for its handsome silvery foliage and for the fragrant, small, tubular pale lavender-blue flowers that bloom mid to late summer. When fully in bloom it looks like a purple haze. Russian Sage is excellent toward the back of a border or planted singly as an accent. Its long lasting flowers are great for cutting or drying.
Russian Sage is easy to grow, prefers well drained, average soil but will tolerate poor soil and is drought tolerant. It grows 3-5' tall and 3' wide, prefers full sun but can toleraste light shade. However, it will lose its upright form when grown in shade. Russuan Sage attracts butterflies and is deer resistant. The shrub like stems may die back to the ground, but will come back from the roots. |
